Amazon review of Phil Jackson’s book Eleven Rings: The Soul of Success

When I was a kid, my mom dated some high flung corporate dude. He had seats at the Garden - 2nd row from the court - before it was fashionable. Every once in a while, to stay in my mom’s good graces, he would hand over a couple of tix to me and my friend Sammy. These were the Reed, Monroe, Frasier, Bradley, and yes, Jackson days. I loved those days. A few years later I traded my love of the Knicks for the love of The Dead. But my life always flowed back and forth between the two.

So it was with great joy to read Phil comparing a well run team to great jazz. The teamwork, the solos, the free form. This is a great book for music lovers. As well as, of course, for bball heads and sports fans.

I have a meeting with my boss today so I left myself a reminder on my phone. Also I overdrew my bank account for the first time ever by 11 dollars.
